Procedure Description

Treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding has been treated in the past with either hysterectomy or endometrial ablation with the rollerball. Unfortunately, the risks of rollerball ablation were uterine perforation as well as a high failure rate. In today,s world there are many more conservative and safe options for treating abnormal uterine bleeding.

In our practice , we offer two such therapies: Her Option® cryoablation and hydrothermal ablation (HTA). These treatments both have excellent outcomes. You will need to be seen and examined to see if you qualify for either of these types of treatment.

The her Option® cryoablation therapy system offers the advantage of minimal pain. This allows the procedure to be done under local and oral sedation in the office. The procedure requires approximately 30 minutes. The progress is viewed throughout the procedure by and ultrasound on the patient's abdomen.
